Arise! Ukraine and its partners have been helping buy wood, coal and food for the poor in Eastern Ukraine for three years in a row.
These are people who live in the conflict zone–where incomes, pensions and other government aid is very low.
Often, people heat their homes to only 40-50 degrees in the winter–or use wood from their fences and sheds to burn when extreme cold comes.
Coal and wood is delivered by members of local churches, who also share the Good News and bring New Testaments and other Christian literature.
In one town, a brand new church was started from people who first received this help and eventually prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Praise God!
